JOE RHODES
Senior Pastor

Joe has served as pastor of New Hope Church since its inception in 1981. Prior to this, he and his wife, Tricia, were missionarIes in Alaska. They have two grown sons and enjoy spending time with their three grandchildren.

KEN GOWEN
Associate Pastor

While just recently joining the staff team, Ken and his wife Barb are not new comers to New Hope. They have served in various capacities of leadership over the past 26 years. Prior to coming to New Hope in 1982, Ken and Barb served on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ for 9 years. They have three children and five grandsons.

DENNIS ORMSBEE
Worship Leader

Having received his music degree from San Diego State, Dennis has served as a worship leader in the San Diego area for the last twenty-five years. Coming to New Hope in 2003, he presently serves on staff in dual roles, as Worship Leader and Church Administrator. He and his wife have one son in college and another in high school.

NICK LOWTHER
Youth Pastor

Nick joined New Hope Church in 1995. He now oversees the youth and college ministries. He and his wife have a daughter, Natalie, and a son, Ethan.

ANGELA PRESLEY
Children's Ministry Director

Angela served as an assistant staff prior to taking on the position of Children's Minsitry Director in 2006. She works along side many talented volunteer staff, including her husband Jerry. She and Jerry have been married for four years.

GUSTAVO BERNAL
Mi Raza Ministries

Gustavo joined New Hope as a teenager, having been involved in the basketball league and introduced to Christ through that outreach. He now leads a new outreach in that same community. His wife, Trisha, assists him in weekly Bible studies with youth and various sports activities.

MELANIE BECKSTROM
BLAST Director

Melanie joined New Hope in 1993 with her husband, Gary. She had been overseeing the afterschool program at Los Penasquitos since 1998. Gary and Melanie have three adult children and four grandchildren.

LYNNE NEWLAND
Financial Assistant

Lynne has been a member of New Hope since 1982. She has served as the Financial Assistant since 1998. Lynne and her husband Jon have two grown daughters and love spending family time with them and their three grandchildren.

HOLLY DURETTE
Operations Manager

Holly has been a member of New Hope since 2005. She joined New Hope staff in July 2007, having previously worked as an Assistant Director at a school for at-risk teen girls.

LOIS GOOSMAN
Administrative Assistant

Lois has been a part of New Hope for over 20 years. She joined as staff in 2006 after serving as a volunteer for five years, while continuing to use her gifts of nursing to help those in the body. Her legacy of faith is evidenced through seeing her children and grandchildren serving the Lord.
