Ways to Fast

Time Commitment

Pray about whether or not to fast for 3, 21 or 40 days.

Go Without Food

Fast one meal per day.

Eat only one meal per day.

Fast from sweets, sodas, or other non-essentials.

Complete liquid fast (drink only water or other liquids). NOTE: Please consult a doctor first, if you have never done this.

Go Without Sleep

Rise earlier than normal each day to pray.

Pray a night-watch - one hour or more in the middle of each night.

Stay up later to pray each day.

Pray throughout the night.

Sign up for night slots in the prayer room.

Other Valuable Spiritual Disciplines During Your Fast

Media Influence: Eliminate television, secular music, newspapers, magazines, movies and computer as entertainment.

Spending: Eliminate unnecessary spending, choosing to buy only essentials, eat at home instead of out.

Other: Commit to putting aside any habit or practice that might keep you from focusing on seeking God's heart during this season.

The power of prayer has never been tried to its full capacity in any church. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine grace and power wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let the whole Church answer God's standing challenge; "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knows not."

Attend the Life Change Class Soul at Rest beginning Sunday, September 21 at 9:00 AM at New Hope.

Join us for prayer on Sunday mornings at 8:15 AM, beginning September 21st.

Join us for prayer and worship on Tuesday nights, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM, in the Family Center, weekly beginning September 23rd.

Register to attend The Call California on November 1.
